This photo is a detail of a very large mural on the wall of a building in Venice Beach, California, titled:

VENICE RECONSTITUTED 1989

There are a number of interesting features in this piece. The most prominent is the tribute to Sandro Botticelli's The Birth of Venus (1486). Also note the inclusion of a wall that also has wall art on it.

The painting seems to be by an artist who signed the work as "R. Cronk".

The photo was taken in June, 1996, and is part of a series of photographs.
